Light & Dreamy Kitchen

This semi-rural Pullenvale kitchen renovation uses texture and tones of white throughout it’s design and continues into a dream butler’s pantry.

Kitchen and Butlers Pantry

Pullenvale, West Brisbane

This white shaker style profile kitchen with large butler’s pantry is everything at our recent Pullenvale, Brisbane project. The classic white kitchen lifted a previous timber federation style, opening up and bringing the home into modernity.

Having worked previously with the clients on their bathroom project, returning to assist with their kitchen renovation was a wonderful opportunity. Situated amongst the trees of semi-rural Pullenvale afforded our team a beautiful outlook for smoko!

The bay window received a modern update and provides a beautiful backdrop to the light and bright kitchen island, framed by the oven and fridge run. The subtle movement of Smartstone’s “Bianco Onix” paired well with the white cabinetry.

Our clients were keen to introduce subtle blues to the space, with our designer introducing the handcut crayon tiles in a soft blue/grey. The crayon shape was a subtle shift from a classic subway tile, allowing the clients to remain conservative in their approach given the classic feel of the home as a whole.

Lighting to the upper cabinetry provides both functional and ambient lighting, setting off the tiles and their natural lines further. The handles followed suit in shape, giving a neat finish to the space. A spice drawer to the right of the cooktop allows the benchtop to remain free of clutter whilst cooking meals. Fabric bar stools in a soft blue invite guests to come and enjoy the hospitality including ourselves, who celebrated with a bottle of bubbles at the close of project with our beautiful clients!

Bifold doors between the kitchen and dining area were welcomed to the previous standard glass door access, joining the interior and exterior spaces perfectly. The amount of light and movement to the area made a dramatic impact to the home. The ceiling rose was replaced with a large, white metal pendant over the dining table, a simple, yet beautiful cornice replacing the older style.

A frosted entry to the butler’s pantry affords a good division between the main kitchen and butler’s pantry. Upon entry to the butler’s pantry, one feels like they’re in another kitchen with the ample space and generous storage. A double hung window provides an outlook to the deck and back area of home, previously not enjoyed to its full potential. Appliances happily sit in the ample space, out of sight from the main kitchen. A blackboard, handmade by our clients hangs at the end of the butler’s pantry, illustrated by their daughter’s friend. All that’s left is a menu to be chalked up and amazing meals to be created.

Kind Words

Yes, Pete and the team at BWR indeed produce magnificent bathrooms (we have 3!) but they are also “top to toe” house renovation specialists.

Pete, Camillo, Rebecca, Cameron and the rest of the BRW Team have just completed a major renovation to our 5 bedroom Queenslander and the result is amazing! New floors, 3 new bathrooms, new kitchen, full window replacement, total repaint – The Works.

We researched long and hard before beginning our reno journey, met with many trades and builders. Within 5 minutes of meeting Pete, we knew we’d found our solution. As I mentioned to many of Pete’s team, we knew straight away that Pete was the sought of person that we could disappear for a couple of months, comfortable in the knowledge that we’d return to a job well done.

The care, attention and support invested by these guys extends across the board and is innate to their business culture, from Rebecca our guiding interior designer, Camillo and all trades, the respect, warmth, care and combined instances on producing a quality product was amazing.

We can not thank Pete and the BWR Team enough for the gift they have given us and would have no hesitation in recommending anyone to engage their services. Like all quality builders and renovation specialists Pete and his team are busy at present, however, I encourage you to wait for the best. Thanks Pete!
