Hamptons Inspired Kitchen
Creating our client’s dream semi-rural home in Brisbane’s Brookfield, nestled within the bush. Design features allowed for bright and light Hamptons inspiration to be brought throughout the interiors.
Kitchen, walk-in Butlers Pantry, Bathroom, Laundry
Brookfield, West Brisbane
With a recent move from inner Brisbane, our clients were keen to create their dream semi-rural home in Brisbane’s Brookfield. The home, nestled within the bush, allowed for a bright and light design to be brought throughout the interiors. This project was made even more special with the clients celebrating the birth of their daughter during the project. The Briswest Renovations team felt privileged to be trusted to complete such a large project during such a big time for this special family.
At the heart of the design was the large kitchen and walk in pantry, all of us excited to execute the perfect design and build. The kitchen features classic white shaker style cabinetry and Smarstone’s elegant “Bianco Onix” refining the space even further. Classic satin nickel cup handles and knobs finish the cabinetry well.
The splashback features a hand cut ocean varied coloured subway laid in herringbone pattern for subtle beauty.
The cabinetry that runs the span of the large windows is a perfect space for appliances away from the main cooking zones and ensures the island is kept free of clutter.
The butler’s sink sits proud within the large island, beautifully adorned with the Turner Hastings Frances sink mixer. A trio of glass pendants softens the space, whilst allowing the continuation through to the bush views beyond the dining table, adorned by a larger version of the same island pendant.
Beyond the kitchen to the upper floor, the existing bulkhead was updated to allow an uninterrupted line to define the space, with bulky balustrade replaced with glass and simple railing. The eye is naturally drawn up, the light consistent right up to the curved and angled ceiling. The dining space was an addition by the Briswest Renovations team, who pushed the windows and walls back. This created an interesting construction test of having curved steel beams custom made and joined on to the existing beams. The result was perfect, the space showing no sign of extension. It was meant to be.
The walk-in pantry is a generous storage area filled with purpose built fixed shelving to maintain the strong custom design to house specific pantry goods, such as a cannery and larger boxes and jars. Beautiful barn style doors separate the main kitchen and dining space from the walk-in pantry, perfect for closing off whilst entertaining guests. The custom finish of cabinetry allows a high end finish to both spaces, an important feature for our clients.
The walls throughout the upper and lower spaces are painted in the classic beauty of Dulux’s “Silver Teaset”.
The open thoroughfare from the kitchen leads into a large hall and entry area that runs the full length of the home. To one end, a second bedroom, laundry and bathroom can be found, the Briswest Renovations team renovating the bathroom and laundry to create a luxurious space and functional laundry continuing the Hampton’s theme with butler’s sink and laundry chute. A hanging rail completes the space with full strip lighting housed within the upper cabinetry. A four metre run of linen cabinetry divides the hall to the laundry and bathroom spaces.
The guest bathroom was also renovated, before heading upstairs where the Briswest Renovations team produced a stunning, large ensuite with the home’s third freestanding bath overlooking the property through the large windows. Stone subway tiles are laid in herringbone pattern to ensure cohesion with the kitchen. Large marble tiles are used throughout all spaces for walls and floors, creating a stunning, yet subtle backdrop to the bush views beyond to all spaces.
A firm favourite in the client stakes, this project was overall a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Briswest Renovations’ workmanship and full design approach committed to all clients.
