Project Details / Design brief

Our clients wanted a clean, modern look for this bathroom renovation. Cohesion with the traditional Queenslander style home was essential; to maintain certain features in the bathroom design.

This Queenslander home had a strong pull of detailed wooden features. Intricate balcony railings, floorboards and picture railings throughout.

Create a clean, modern space

To achieve the brief, we used large format tiles for a modern background both the floors and walls.

Rectified tiles minimised grout lines. A mid-grey grout was to create a seamless finish.

The vanities, bath and shaver cabinets also held clean, straight lines to make the space feel large and modern, all in a white palette.

Combining the clean and modern bathroom design for traditional Queenslander

As a backdrop and introduction to the more traditional features, 100 x 300mm subway tiles were used in the shower and powder room, laid in herringbone style.  This addition set the scene and added contrast to the larger tiles.

The round features were then introduced to soften the spaces.  These can be seen in the semi inset basins, wall sconces and powder room mirror, right through to the soft curves of the chrome hardware in the tapware, handles and rails.

Customer Testimonial

Pete and his team of exceptional tradesman completed 2 bathrooms and a powder room for us, transforming our old 90’s looking bathrooms into modern, well-appointed functional rooms that have added enormous value to our house.

Pete’s communication, design & PC suggestions, quality control and project management skills resulted in a hassle-free renovation which finished just in time for the COVID 19 lockdown. We were able to isolate in style! We will be using BrisWest Renovations again for other projects and strongly recommend anyone thinking of a bathroom renovation to get in touch with Pete.
