When our clients in Brookfield, Brisbane, approached Briswest Renovations for a bathroom project, they longed for a serene and peaceful retreat within their home. With a focus on creating a relaxing and calming space, our team embarked on a journey to transform their bathroom into a haven of tranquility, while maintaining the classic style of the home.
The transformation began by removing the corner spa. This immediately allowed for a more spacious floorplan, including the addition of a large shower.
Within the new shower space, two large windows were removed during demolition. Replacing one of these windows with a slim wider window, high on the wall, ensured ample natural light and privacy. It helped us to provide a generously sized shower storage niche for bath products.
Tiling to the full ceiling height and square setting the tiles, further enhanced the feeling of spaciousness, contributing to the serene ambiance of the room. The inclusion of black window frames and tapware added a touch of drama, complimenting the soft stone grey tiles perfectly.
The elongated layout of the bathroom allowed for the incorporation of a long vanity wall, providing much-needed storage space. The double vanity was retained, with additional cabinetry and shelving added for organisation. With the assistance of Rebecca, interior designer for Briswest Renovations, our clients chose a muted light grey for the cabinetry colour, creating a harmonious blend with the tile palette. Darker grey above-counter basins atop white stone counter-tops continued the calming aesthetic, ensuring a balanced and tranquil atmosphere.
Round features were thoughtfully incorporated throughout the space, from mirrors to lighting fixtures, adding a touch of elegance and softness. The use of black wall lights and tapware continued the striking contrast against the soothing grey tones, further enhancing the visual appeal of the bathroom.
To infuse a sense of freshness a beautiful sage green was introduced as a feature colour. Hand-cut subway tiles, placed vertically, added height to the space, creating visual interest and depth.
